How to plan PyroDigiT shows in FWsim

This guide shows you how to plan and visualize your fireworks show and export it to the Pyrodigit system.

Pyrodigit is a pyrotechnic firing system made in Italy. It has been used for award-winning shows at major competitions internationally.

Step 1: Setup

In FWsim, click File → New and select your firing system.

First, we open the Scenery menu. Here, we can select a real location - which will be imported from Google Earth in 3D.

Next, let’s add some positions.

Then, add five modules. Drag each module to a position.

Finally, add your music file: Simply find it in Windows Explorer and drag it to the timeline.

Setup complete!

Step 2: Plan your Show

Let’s add our cues.

First, activate the position you want. Then, click the “Single” button in the toolbox and choose an effect.

You can also activate multiple positions.

Adjust the angle in the 3D window.

Using copy and paste, you can quickly create nice sequences and stepper runs. Use the timeline to move them around and make them shorter or longer.

Step 3: Export

FWsim generates modules and pin numbers for each cue when you click “Auto-Assign Channels”. FWsim also does this automatically before each firing system export.

You can see the module and pin numbers in the timeline, on each cue. You can also check this information in the Table View.

If you want to know how many pins are used on each module, go back to Module Setup Mode.

In the Export Menu, you can now trigger firing system data export.

Step 4: Open the script in the PyroDigiT FTP compiler

Download the PyroDigiT FTP compiler.

In the FTP compiler, click the button “select Finale3D CSV”, then pick the CSV file generated by FWsim.

If you have music, click the button “Select Music”.

Please note: In order to get correct synchronization, make sure the music starts at 0 minutes 0 seconds in the FWsim timeline.

Finally, click “Start” to generate the files for your system.
